Beautiful sunset taken at Port Klang after raining. Don’t you feel warm with Orange color sky and sea? ^^

Sunset in The Tree

Posted on 07 August 2009 by admin

Sunset is one of the favorite photography theme. But it is not easy to compose a nice one.

In Chinese proverbs, “Sunset is the best unfortunately so short”. So the key to shoot perfect sunset is Timing. If you don’t believe, go out to observe the sunset this evening. It keep changing the position every second and minute.

In this photo, I have no choice to include my car inside. If I were move out the car, sunset might gone away. So the moral of the story is, think of the related area you want to shoot before parking.

I used “P” mode and adjust Exposure to EV 0.3 so that you still see the grass on land. Yet no too bright till over expose.

If you noticed, there is a orange spot on top of the sunlight. Who can tell me what is that? Is it dirt on lens the root cause?

Seaside Wooden Boat

Posted on 06 August 2009 by admin

My first outdoor photography artwork. It is quite difficult for full time worker like me to take outdoor photo during daytime. Sky is always dark when I go home.

Last Sunday I manage to go out in the evening for some shooting at seaside. This is where the fishermen park their wooden boat.

The weather covered by haze on that day. No blue sky and clear view. I increased Exposure to make it brighter. But at the end still choose this one without additional Exposure (0 EV). Why? See next photo to get the answer.

Darker image could produce better feeling with “ink sketch” effects. Is it great if print out the ink sketch version and sell in art gallery? :)

I use Paint.Net to apply the effect. No extra work, the effect just Great!
