It is not easy to capture night scene saturated with car drifting light. Timing is vital. Set the shutter timer to 2 seconds to avoid button touch movement. Estimate when the cars will pass by the scene and shoot before the car lights are in.

I tried different settings and these are the most satisfied Stadhuy’s (Red House) night scene, without Photoshop ok.

Five to six seconds exposure is enough to capture car drifting light with sharp town lights. Longer time might get your photo over expose. I like 2nd photo the most, the lights are averagely saturated. Which one you like the most?
We went on evening, so have chance to enjoy the sunset. The cruise station just beside the tallest building in Seoul, Korea Life Insurance with only 63 stories. The building looks great when it turn to golden color reflected by sunset color.

We travel to Korea Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) Peace Park on the 2nd day. It was really hot sun. I think My Nikon D60 can’t perform well without a CPL or ND filter.

Anyway, we just have too little there. That’s the problem you follow group tour. We get some brief introduction on the Peace Park, snap some photos and that’s it.

The Broken Bridge

It is not exactly the DMZ zone, yet surrounded by watch tower and soldiers. Nobody can go beyond the fences.

There was a bridge connecting South Korea and North Korea. It was built to exchange prisoner of war. After that, they break the bridge and now become The Broken bridge. The wood of the broken bridge was use to build a short bridge in the middle of the park for people to remember their friends and family over the river.

As photo below, the land on the other side after the river is North Korea. We even can see buildings behind the mountain with eye view.

Winter Sonata is one of the most famous Korean drama few years ago. Since that people start notice this country.

On our first day travel in Seoul, we went to tour Nami Island. But so sad I have not seen the drama. So I have no idea what is it all about?

The Island of TREES

The island was a gift to a well known general by Korea king. After the general pass away, the island keeper plant lots of trees around the island. Sorry, I have forgotten what’s the name of the tree?

The tour guide told us not to stop during our way to the main scene. He said just 10 minutes WALK, but it is actually RUN for us. Korean ‘WALK’ really fast. Remember, when Korean tell you 10 minutes walking, you as a Malaysian should give it 20 minutes.

Winter Sonata Scene

Unfortunately it was Sunday, full of Korean having their family day there. So, I was unable to capture clear two row of trees (winter sonata classic moment).

Anyway, still have some good shots (i think). At least, you won’t see row of rainbow colors umbrella hung on the trees here.

The classic moment, two row of straight trees. Heard will be more beautiful when all leaves turn to red color during autumn. 10 minutes of WALKING doesn’t make me faster than these Korean ladies….

The island is not very big. You can travel one round within an hour or two. There are some shops for short break, take a cup of coffee or ice-cream. The ferry service to the island is fast and convenient too. Don’t miss it if you’re Winter Sonata drama fans.
